32 Bright Clouds
Beethoven Conversations Around the World
Lauded by contemporaries and critics alike for her visionary interpretations of surpassing depth, immediacy, and communicative power, Weiss brings her dazzling technical skill and expressive sensitivity to bear in this global music commissioning and performing project. Featuring five world premieres by composers from Iran, Syria, Jordan, Ghana, and the Philippines, the power of music conveys a message of unity and peace in response to US and international social environments. Weiss’ beautifully curated performance pairs 32 Beethoven sonatas with 32 newly commissioned piano pieces from 32 highly diverse composers in 32 countries spanning the globe.
- As part of her ongoing effort to foster an appreciation of classical music, Weiss created and recorded “Classical Minutes,” a popular series of daily podcasts available on iTunes.
- The Washington Post proclaims her to be “a pianist who delves deeply and tellingly into that cloudy area where fantasy morphs into improvisation.”
- Weiss also tours worldwide with the Weiss-Kaplan-Strumpf Trio.
