Warm up with Strathmore’s UkeFest this winter! Join friends and faculty from around the world for a virtual ukulele weekend full of special topics workshops, jamming, performances, and camaraderie. Tobias Elof, Tony Mizen, Jeff Peterson, and Sonia de los Santos join Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer to teach you all kinds of interesting techniques, from slack-key to early classical to folk, swing, and more.

This event is intended for advanced beginner to advanced players. Novice and beginner students are advised to prepare with a beginner course prior to Virtual Winter Ukefest, or plan to sit in on classes.

Baritone uke players! Make sure to also check out Baritone Uke Day on December 5, 2020. This full day of virtual workshops is just for baritone ukes and DGBE tuned tenor guitars! Learn more and register for Baritone Uke Day.


Tuition Includes

  • 5 hours of skill-based classes daily (3 choices per time slot)
  • Daily jam sessions and hangout opportunities
  • Student and faculty showcase concerts

Is this program appropriate for kids?

The program is geared for adults, but we are happy to have kids and teens join us! We just ask that parents/guardians talk with staff before registering. Please email before purchasing a registration for a student under the age of 18.


Strathmore aims to make music education experiences like UkeFest as financially accessible as possible, and we are able to offer a limited number of partial tuition scholarships. Please note that because our goal is to provide partial assistance to as many people as possible, we are not likely to offer full scholarships.
