Kite Fly Day
Sunday, April 22, 2018, 1pm
Kite Fly Day
Pre-registration has cut off. However we will offer free special gifts day-of as supplies last. Please stop at the blue Strathmore tent by the Gazebo to collect your gift and more information about the event when you come Sunday.
Grab your kites and head to Strathmore for a day of fun and spectacle! Fly your own kite and watch amazing demonstrations, including outdoor choreographed team flying and indoor flying set to live music. Picnic, toss a frisbee, and enjoy the afternoon with family, then join us for an amazing performance of Air Play in the Concert Hall (tickets to Air Play can be purchased here).
Guests may fly their own kites, visit the exhibition in the Mansion, picnic, and enjoy throughout the day! Here is a schedule of demonstrations and other events:
- Morning: Fly your own kite and picnic with family
- 1–1:45pm: (weather permitting) Wings over Washington kite flying, MCYO performance, and family fun
- 2:15–2:45pm: Indoor kite fly with live music in the Music Center
- 4pm: Air Play takes the stage in the Concert Hall for patrons with tickets
Registration for Kite Fly Day is not required, but is highly encouraged! Pre-registrants will receive a special gift at the event. Please select total the number of people coming in your group, both kids and adults, from the registration drop-down menu.
About Air Play
Perfect for families, Air Play is a modern spectacle that brings to life the very air we breathe. Flying umbrellas, huge balloons, giant kites, and the biggest snow globe you’ve ever seen will make kids and adults alike gasp and giggle. Get tickets to Air Play.
We rely on charitable gifts from individuals to sustain and expand our visual and performing arts experiences and arts education programs. Your gift will foster incredible social impact by allowing Strathmore to remain a strong and vibrant resource in your community.
