Backyard Theater for Kids:
Join Falu on a musical journey through South Asian culture and around the globe, celebrating the instruments, languages, sights, and people of a diverse world. Originally from Bombay, India, she is internationally recognized for her ability to seamlessly blend classical Indian music with American pop to create a unique “Indie-Hindi” style. This approach has led to many high-profile collaborations with artists like Yo-Yo Ma, Wyclef Jean, Philip Glass, Ricky Martin, and A. R. Rahman. Her music was also a fixture of the Beyond Bollywood exhibition at Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. This special kid-focused performance is highly interactive as Falu invites her audience to “sing, dance, clap, and choo choo as part of a human train” while backed by Western and traditional Indian instruments.
