Artist in Residence:
Kimberly Kong, classical piano

Sponsored by Nancy Chasen and Donald Spero

Kimberly Kong has been in the spotlight since her debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra when she was nine. On faculty at the Peabody Institute, Kong is a frequent soloist who has performed at Carnegie Hall and under the baton of Marvin Hamlisch.

  • She’s a sharp dresser. Among her many accomplishments is her fashion blog, Sensible Stylista, in which she has taught followers how to find smoking hot deals since 2011
  • Watch out! Kong’s practiced martial arts for as long as she’s played the piano, and is a second degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do
  • Kong’s teacher at Juilliard, Julian Martin, studied with the revered French composer Nadia Boulanger
  • Kong will be joined by cellist Alicia Ward (AIR 2010-11), composer Natalie Draper, and fellow AIR Cassandra Allen

Don't miss Kimberly Kong's free workshop on May 18.
