Chelsey Green, Class of 2011
Chelsey is firing on all cylinders. She was actively sought out by Berklee College of Music and is now a full-time associate professor in the string department, where she will be working to help Berklee take contemporary viola training to the next level.
In November 2017, Chelsey was featured in the BET Walmart “Get Together” commercial premiered at the BET Soul Train Awards hosted by Erykah Badu. She played violin and sang with fellow artists Kirk Franklin, Estelle, and Roe Summerz.
Chelsey continues to tour internationally as the leader of The Green Project and has performed with renowned artists like Stevie Wonder and J Cole. She remains active as a soloist, recitalist, and orchestral musician. We don’t get to see her as often these days, but always get together when she gigs in the DC area.
Ines Nassara, Class of 2017
If you haven’t heard the powerful voice of Ines Nassara, class of 2017, put it at the top of your list! Her outstanding vocal and acting abilities have landed her among the best emerging actresses in the DC area. She has been cast by Ford’s Theatre in the leading role of Dorothy in their spring 2018 production of The Wiz, and she recently was one of three soloists in Signature Theatre’s Holiday Follies Christmas cabaret. This past year, she was also outstanding in the ensemble of Ragtime at Ford’s.
Ines has garnered critical acclaim for the powerful vocals, energy, and passion that she brings to the stage, driving the ensembles around her to new heights. Now living in Manhattan, she enjoys fusing an eclectic mix of genres in her vocal work, especially jazz, pop, soul, and folk.
Patrick McAvinue, Class of 2017
Patrick brought joy to our hearts whenever he picked up his fiddle, starting from the very first notes of his audition. We were beyond thrilled for him when he won the 2017 title of International Bluegrass Music Association Fiddler of the Year—we sure know how to pick our AIRs!
He is the fiddler for the multi-Grammy-nominated bluegrass group Dailey & Vincent. Patrick is regarded as one of the most innovative young fiddlers in the industry, able to translate the traditions of bluegrass into a fresh, eclectic, forward-thinking language of his own.
