Strathmore Music in the Mansion Series
Christina Jennings, flute Lura Johnson, piano
This dazzling young flutist has captured the attention of classical music audiences, performing with orchestras and in recital across the United States and internationally. She plays with "grace and drama" (The Flute Explorer), exploring both the classics of the flute repertoire and new music with equal flair. Discover an artist who plays "with effortless agility…and impressive tone: throatily rich in the lower register and unusually without strain or shrillness in the upper" (Houston Chronicle).
Ms. Jennings and Ms. Johnson will perform a water-themed program, including the Carl Reinecke Sonata "Undine," a solo flute piece by Robert Aiken called "Icicle," and solo piano work "Jeu Deux." The program also includes the Faure Fantasie and other works.
Parking for Music in the Mansion is in the Mansion Lot, entrance off of 10701 Rockville Pike.
