The Godfather of Go-Go, Chuck Brown comes to Strathmore with the singular, hypnotically danceable sound he created right here in Washington, DC. Deeply rooted in funk, jazz, Latin and soul, Go-Go’s syncopated beats and nonstop rhythms keep the crowd moving from start to finish. The Washington Post calls Chuck Brown “as important to our city as that tall monument down on the mall.” DC progressive hip-hop artist, 2009 Grammy nominee and Strathmore Artist in Residence alum Christylez Bacon kicks the evening off right with his opening set.
