With its home at the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Stockholm, the 10-member Romeo & Julia Kören has toured extensively throughout Europe and around the world, reviving and sharing the expressively dramatic music of the Renaissance. Strathmore and The Embassy of Sweden are proud to host their American debut concert.

This passionate and expressive ensemble truly connects with audiences in intimate settings such as Music in the Mansion. The first act of this production features the madrigal comedy Zefiro Torna, based on the music of Claudio Monteverdi, with the second act comprising the non-narrative Renaissance burlesque Beauty and Burlesque, highlighting these talented musicians' playful improvisation and Renaissance songs by Purcell, Dowland, Donne, di Lasso and others.
