Performer and scholar Edwin Good co-curated (with Cynthia Adams Hoover) the “Piano 300” exhibition at the National Museum of American History in 2000. On an exquisitely detailed reproduction of a 1722 Cristofori piano, Good will perform works by J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Domenico Alberti, Carlos Seixas, and a new work commissioned from San Francisco composer Duane Heller.
Listen and learn! Enjoy a Jordan Kitt’s Education Series for Music in the Mansion pre-concert lecture by Virginia artisans Thomas and Barbara Wolf, who created the reproduction piano used in the performance, 6:30pm in the Shapiro Music Room. Free with concert ticket.
