Strathmore and CityDance Present
The Songwriters

Dance centered around America’s great songwriters, including Sophie Maslow’s Folksay inspired by the music of Woody Guthrie, Jane Dudley’s Harmonica Breakdown set to the music of Sonny Terry, and Paul Gordon Emerson’s Born to Run performed to the iconic songs of Bruce Springsteen. Also featured in the program is Brenda Way’s On a Train Heading South, a vigorous piece that bravely addresses global warming and Paul Gordon Emerson's Falling performed to "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding, featuring harmonicist Fred Yonnet.
