The Grammy-winning Turtle Island Quartet joins forces with the iconic, acoustic finger-style, guitarist Leo Kottke in A Solstice Celebration: The Festival of Lights. This concert showcases world holiday music from the songs of Chanukah, to the music of India’s Diwali, to the old English carols and Scottish reels of the 16th century. Also included are new takes on classics for the season by Vince Guaraldi, Miles Davis, and others. The Turtle Island Quartet has been praised for its “excellent precision and musicality” by The Washington Post and for its “zest, imagination and brilliant technique…” by The San Francisco Examiner.
