Audience favorite James Judd returns to delve into the vivid colors and textures of Matisse. The BMA has the largest collection of Matisse in the world, and this program focuses on one of Matisse’s most unique works, the illustrated book Jazz. Explore its connection to the composer’s use of color and texture in their musical palette. The concert will include Bach/Stokowski’s Prelude and Fugue in C minor, Torke’s Bright Blue and Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2, “Age of Anxiety.”
