Strathmore invites kids to experience our fun and enriching summer camps, where students explore art through a new lens and create their own masterpieces inspired by renowned artists from around the world.
This year, projects are inspired by the theme “Imagining a New World.” Students will:
- Create safe haven sculptures using pulped papier-mâché, natural elements, fiber, and a variety of other media, and incorporating techniques such as embroidery stitching, wrapping, and weaving.
- Move through stations to collaboratively experiment with mark-making techniques and textures and use the resulting works for vibrant self-portraits.
- Imagine their vision of a new world and learn painting techniques to create a large painting inspired by Marc Chagall's dreamlike imagery.
On the last day of camp, Friday from 2–3pm, Strathmore welcomes families to a student artwork showcase and reception.
Strathmore’s art camps are directed by Rosana Azar of Creative Adventures.
