Emerging and mid-career artist support is a cornerstone of our mission to nurture artists and creative potential. The Invitational Gallery at the Mansion at Strathmore is a space dedicated to artists in the earliest stages of their careers.
The gallery is a distinct, enclosed exhibition space that hosts numerous private events and meetings throughout the year. It complements the exhibitions presented in our main galleries and provides artists with valuable exposure. The Invitational Gallery program is designed to broaden an artist’s audience, connect them with potential buyers, and raise their profile within the region. We are proud that many artists maintain a close relationship with Strathmore and continue to exhibit in our main galleries as their careers grow.
Artists are identified through curator and artist networks, traditional and non-traditional educational programs, art events in the DMV and Mid-Atlantic region and exhibitions at local and regional galleries. While we do not accept proposals for exhibitions in the Invitational Gallery, we encourage artists at all levels to submit work for Strathmore's Annual Juried Exhibition.
