Known for its innovation, superbly trained dancers, and electrifying performances, PHILADANCO!, The Philadelphia Dance Company, celebrates 50 years as one of the premiere African American modern dance companies. Presenting iconic PHILADANCO! works as well as new choreography that highlights their continued engagement with today’s most important social issues, the company continues their legacy of bridging cultural divides. New work by BaKari Lindsay will be featured and highlight Caribbean and African heritage through Malian kora music.
The presentation of PHILADANCO! was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
