Singer, fiddler, and songwriter Lily Henley joins multi-instrumentalist Duncan Wickel in a performance that explores the connections between ancient and modern languages, cultures, and musical traditions. Drawing from American folk, Sephardic ballads, and Celtic rhythms, Henley’s new album, Oras Dezaoradas, reimagines Sephardic Jewish ballads in the endangered Ladino language—spoken by fewer than 100,000 people. Her original songs blend personal heritage with the vibrant culture of her Sephardi ancestors, inviting audiences of all backgrounds to feel a connection to their own traditions.
