Join singer, fiddler, and songwriter Lily Henley and virtuosic multi-instrumentalist Duncan Wickel as they weave ancient and modern languages, cultures, and styles to reveal our interconnectedness through music.
With roots in American folk, Sephardic traditions, and Celtic rhythms, Henley’s new album, Oras Dezaoradas, sets Sephardic Jewish ballads to new melodies, highlighting the Ladino language, a threatened tongue currently spoken by less than 100,000 people. Henley’s newly penned songs are a reclamation and contribution, a living line between her roots, and the rich history and culture of her Sephardi ancestors. Known for her expressive songwriting, gifted fiddling, and bell-like vocals, Henley brings new life to the old ballads of the Sephardi people, drawing listeners from all cultures to feel a connection to their own heritage.
