Renowned for her stunning vocals that convey a sense of intimacy and emotion, Luca Mundaca’s original compositions blend the sounds of her native Brazil with influences drawn from downtown New York. Her music mines the deep melodic roots of her country’s heritage, combining elements of jazz and bossa nova influences with lyrics in Portuguese. Many of her songs represent a timely exploration of our relationship with nature and the world around us.
Mundaca is an Independent Music Award winner in the World Fusion category and placed third in the World Music category of the 2008 International Songwriting Competition.
