The Max Jacobs Trio explores the intersection of jazz, classical music, and Balkan folk through original compositions and imaginative reinterpretations of classic material. Strathmore Artist in Residence alum violinist Max Jacobs performs with jazz manouche guitarist Sam Farthing and bassist Kai Knorr, two rising voices in the DMV jazz scene.

Influenced in part by the legacy of Django Reinhardt, the trio balances virtuosic improvisation with sensitive melodies and lush harmonic writing, creating music that moves fluidly between traditions.

This free concert at Good Hope Neighborhood Recreation Center is part of Bloom by Strathmore, which strives to create community and expand access to the arts. View upcoming Bloom concerts.
