Virtual Art Talks for Adults

Art lovers joined us for Virtual Art Talks for Adults and explored artwork and artists from current and past exhibitions.

Talks were led by Strathmore Exhibition Coordinator Gabrielle Tillenburg and special guest artists. You can meet the artists and learn about their work below!

Art Talk with Mandi Moerland

Moerland is featured in our previous exhibition, Shake It Out: Mandi Moerland. Her artwork captures the movement and grace of dance in paintings and drawings.

Art Talk with Terron Cooper Sorrells

Sorrells was featured in a solo exhibition, The Railroad, at Strathmore. He uses painting and printmaking to explore the stories of African Americans typically left out of US history textbooks. His imagery drafts narratives that, while fictional, stand for stories untold.

Art Talk with Shana Kohnstamm

Shana Kohnstamm was featured in the 32nd Biennial Exhibition of the Creative Crafts Council at Strathmore. Her soft sculptures are created using an ancient method of shaping and firming wool called felting.

Art Talk with Lorenzo Cardim

Lorenzo Cardim was featured in Timber at Strathmore. His work expresses themes of social injustice and how LGBTQ+ people, people of color, and other groups question the status quo. His sculptures often incorporate contrasting materials, such as nail polish and stitching on wood, and he also works in video and performance.

Art Talk with Melinda Fabian

Melinda Fabian creates sculptures from paper illustrated with watercolor and gouache. Melinda, who exhibited in Paper Works, joined us to discuss her process.

Art Talk with Francisco Rosario

You may remember Francisco Rosario’s work from our exhibition Timber. Join us as he talks all things woodshop and welding.

Art Talk with Alanna Reeves

Alanna Reeves works in print and paint, on paper and fiber. Join us as she talks about her work in our Past Process exhibition.
