The physical aspect of breathing and using one's body is essential to all musicians, especially woodwind players and singers.
In this interactive workshop, flutist and vocalist Alex Hamburger will help you gain greater awareness of your own breathing by understanding anatomy and basic exercises. Hamburger’s experience with yoga, Timani (a method of movement and physical support for musicians), and the Alexander Technique has changed her life and serves as the foundation of the information she will be sharing.
This workshop is informative for musicians and music teachers at any level. Participants will move during the workshop so please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat if you have one.
