Fine Art in Miniature
November 22, 2025–January 10, 2026
Celebrate the 92nd anniversary of this massive exhibition of fine art in miniature with the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, DC and Strathmore.
Founded in 1931 after British painter Alyn Williams (1865-1941) left England's Royal Miniature Society to teach at the Corcoran School of Art, the MPSGS continues to champion the art of miniature. Today, nearly 700 miniature works from around the world are featured in this annual event.
Ranging from postcard to postage stamp size, these portraits, still lifes, sculptures, and collages capture the world in extraordinary detail. These tiny marvels demonstrate the miniaturist's ability to captivate and enchant, inviting viewers to take a closer look.
Fine Art in Miniature presents the largest collection of media, techniques, styles, and surfaces in a single show. Artists reduce their subjects to just 6% of actual size while maintaining the detail and precision of full-scale works.
