A high-energy tribute concert led by award-winning vocalist Cecily and her five-piece band honors the Queens of Disco. This joyful performance celebrates the love, joy, freedom, and sensuality of the late ’70s with hits by Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, and more. Often compared to Minnie Riperton and Amel Larrieux, Cecily is known for her agile soprano, poetic lyrics, and soothing sound rooted in mid-century soul and jazz. Releasing July 26, her latest album, Awakening Pt. II, is inspired by bell hooks’ All About Love, exploring themes of unconditional love, self-acceptance, and healing. “Clumsy,” the lead single from Part I, won a 2020 Wammie for Best Soul Song. Its music video premiered on BETSOUL and BET.com, where Cecily’s “gorgeously sultry vocals” were praised. Whether she’s performing or teaching, Cecily’s work is rooted in vulnerability, unconditional love, and the belief that joy is a human right.
