Join us for performances featuring over 550 talented and passionate musicians from the DMV area.
From soaring melodies of the symphony orchestra to intimate harmonies of chamber ensembles, MCYO’s younger musicians will present an array of masterworks and hidden gems.
The Philharmonic, MCYO's flagship orchestra, performs the world-premiere of Fractured Wings, a multimedia suite for orchestra, piano, recorded poetry, birdsong, and wind. Featuring works by Christopher Tin, Michael W. Smith, Jordan Jinosko, Jean Sibelius, Gustav Mahler, Jo Blankenburg, Arturo Rodriguez, Maurice Ravel, and Stefano Sacchi, this fully-immersive and interactive concert performance will take listeners on a musical journey through the beauty of flying birds, the majesty of wind, and the vastness of the heavens.
Warning: Moving lights and atmospheric haze are used during the 1pm (March 17) performance.
