Up in the Air
Sat, March 10–Sun, April 29, 2018
Curated by Lesley Lundgren
Mansion at Strathmore
Before flying kites was a traditional pastime, kites were used for ceremonies, military campaigns, and scientific experiments. Featuring innovative kite makers and flyers, this exhibition explores the artistry of kites in their abundant color and sculptural design. See how modern day kite makers use state-of-the-art materials, complex construction, and intricate designs to elevate kites into fine aerial art.
