Montgomery County Plein Air Artists
Nov 17, 2018–Jan 6, 2019
Art is in the air at this exhibition featuring the works of local artists who have found their inspiration on Strathmore’s idyllic grounds. En plein air means “outdoors” and refers to the act of painting outside, in contrast to artists working inside a studio. Over the past year, the Montgomery County Plein Air Artists set up their easels on Strathmore’s campus to create sketches, pastels, and paintings that celebrate the great outdoors, capturing the area’s landscapes, formations, and structures.
