Perspective: Hubert Jackson & Carolyn Goodridge

Tue, Sept 3, 2019 – Sun, Oct 20, 2019
Mansion at Strathmore

Strathmore is pleased to present Hubert Jackson and Carolyn Goodridge in our Perspective series. Both artists were attracted to art from primary school and went on to become adept in a range of mediums, from ceramics and photography to fashion and textiles. Each ultimately focused on painting, earning graduate degrees from Howard University and the University of Florida, respectively. Today, the two artists and longtime friends explore different subjects—Jackson focuses on introspective narratives while Goodridge looks to the cosmos—but both use mixed media painting processes that resemble assemblages, with textures and colors layered on each surface.

Our Perspective series features local artists in solo or duo exhibitions.
