Washington Calligraphers Guild
Sat, June 16–Sun, July 29, 2018
Calligraphy is a form of artistic writing where letters are made in few or multiple strokes. The most elegant and harmonious calligraphy can be a highly disciplined act or gestural, capturing the impulses and emotions of a moment in time. Founded in 1976, the Washington Calligraphers Guild features 500 lettering artists from around the world. Their art combines compelling design with textual meaning. Through the style and composition of written forms, these artists will interpret the spirit of surrealist writers and poets.
