Artists may submit their portfolio to Strathmore to enter a pool of artists from which Strathmore invites to sell work in the Artists Library. Our Artist Library is located outside of the gift shop in the historic library original to the Mansion as renovated by the Corby family. The Artists Library presents artist’s works on display for sale in wooden bins and the original library built-in cases. 2-D artworks, including original works on paper and giclée prints, are presented for sale in the bins. 3-D artworks, including sculpture, jewelry, vessels, and other craft work are presented in the cases and lighted and displayed among vintage books.
The Artists Library presents artists on a quarterly basis. Strathmore retains a 40% commission on all works sold in the Artists Library. If invited to include works in the Artists Library, artists will be required to submit a list of artworks including each title, medium, and price of submitted works. Artists presenting 2D works for sale will be required to present them in plastic sleeves or shrink wrap, and matted or mounted to foam core. Each piece should be labeled with the artist’s name, title, medium, and price on the back of the work. A label template can be provided if requested.
Strathmore will provide labels for 3D works. All unsold works are returned to the artist upon conclusion of the quarter.
Strathmore accepts portfolio submissions for a $5 processing fee. Portfolios are retained indefinitely for rolling consideration. Artists may submit a second portfolio submission for consideration to update their current portfolio on file. Strathmore does not recommend submitting more than one portfolio per year.
Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
