The National Philharmonic’s thrilling 2019-20 season, led by Maestro Piotr Gajewski, offers:

Outstanding Soloists: First-rate Mozartean Orli Shaham performs Mozart’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 20; Sphinx Competition winner Melissa White plays Florence Price’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major; clarinetist Jon Manasse showcases Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto; and Grammy-winner cellist Zuill Bailey performs Michael Daugherty’s Tales of Hemingway

Classical Hits: The National Philharmonic celebrates the 250th birthday of Beethoven with performances of his Triple Concerto with the acclaimed Eroica Trio; the “Eroica” Symphony; and his powerful Missa Solemnis. The season also features Mozart’s majestic Jupiter Symphony and stirring Requiem. In addition, pianist Brian Ganz celebrates the 10th year of his quest to play the complete works of the great Romantic composer Frederic Chopin. 

Special Performances: Relive the musical and movie Mamma Mia as ABBA performs the group’s greatest hits, including Dancing Queen and Fernando! Experience the moving work for solo voices, chorus and orchestra Voices of Light, which accompanies the classic silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc; join us for our special fun and festive Holiday Singin’ Pops and our popular performances of Handel’s Messiah. Attend an evening dedicated to black classical music pioneers, featuring works by Wynton Marsalis, George Walker and William Grant Still, and a concert exploring the connection between music and the written word, showcasing Henry Dehlinger’s Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and Michael Daughtery’s Tales of Hemingway.

SUBSCRIBER BENEFITS

SUBSTANTIAL DISCOUNTS – Subscribers receive discounts on all tickets.
PRIORITY SEATING – Advance seating before the general public.
TICKET EXCHANGES – Tickets can be exchanged at any time for any concert, up to four hours before the concert through the Strathmore Ticket Office (subject to availability).
ALL KIDS, ALL FREE, ALL THE TIME – Young people age 7-17 attend National Philharmonic concerts free of charge, making it easy for families to go to concerts together. Children age six and under are generally not permitted. A transaction fee of $6 applies for Kids Free tickets in order to guarantee reserved seats together. COLLEGE STUDENT TICKETS – Tickets for college students are $10 each and can be purchased online, in person or by phone (301.581.5100). Pick up at will call with a student ID.
ADDITIONAL TICKETS – Subscribers can add extra tickets to their custom series orders at subscriber rates.
COMPLIMENTARY PARKING – National Philharmonic patrons enjoy free parking in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Parking Garage. 
TAX DEDUCTIONS – Tickets returned 24 hours in advance of performances are acknowledged as a tax-deductible donation.
