America’s Navy — Celebrating 242 Years of Service

STAND-BY LINE: For individuals unable to secure advanced tickets, a stand-by line begins at 6:45pm outside the Music Center. No lines may form before the designated time. At 7:15pm all tickets are null and void and patrons in the stand-by line will be allowed entry, subject to available seating.

This October marks the 242nd birthday of the United States Navy and we invite you to join us as we celebrate! This year’s concert will feature the Concert Band, Sea Chanters chorus, and the Cruisers popular music group. This production features popular songs from today, movie music, hits from the 1940s, and more. Throughout the evening we will commemorate the Battle of Midway, honor the 75- year history of the Navy Seabees, pay tribute to our wounded warriors, celebrate our great nation, and hear from sailors around the fleet in a number of video shout outs.

Navy music consists of 11 bands, stationed around the United States and around the world, representing more than 320,000 active-duty Sailors, as well as the Navy’s reserve and civilian forces. They actively support the Navy’s public outreach and recruiting efforts, participating in about 6,000 performances a year for live audiences totaling more than 14 million people and more than 276 million people via broadcast.

Stationed in Washington, DC, The United States Navy Band is the premier musical organization of the US Navy. With 174 enlisted musicians and four officers, the band is comprised of six primary performing groups as well as a host of smaller ensembles. From national concert tours to presidential inaugurals and memorial services at Arlington National Cemetery, the Navy Band proudly represents the men and women of the largest, most versatile, most capable naval force on the planet today: America’s Navy.

Tickets become available August 28. Maximum of 4 tickets per order.

This concert is not presented by Strathmore.
