Streamed Concert

Piotr Gajewski, conductor

Danielle Talamantes, soprano
Norman Shankle, tenor
Kerry Wilkerson, bass-baritone

Johann Sebastian Bach, Cantata BWV 140 Wachet Auf
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Piano Concerto No. 14, K. 449, in E-flat Major; II Andantino
Janice Hamer, For the Uprooted

At this concert, Maestro Gajewski demonstrates how Johann Sebastian Bach’s genius influenced and inspired future composers. A short phrase composed by Bach as a part of Wachat Auf appears more than fifty years later in the second movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14, and nearly three hundred years later in Janice Hamer’s provocative For the Uprooted.
