The Music Center

$25 - $65

The Fourth Light Project
An Immersive Multimedia Experience

Magical, musical, Middle Eastern—Niyaz is vocalist Azam Ali and multi-instrumentalist Loga Ramin Torkian. Blending medieval Sufi poetry, folk songs from their native Iran, and a cutting-edge immersive, multisensory experience that synthesizes sound, space, image, and light, Niyaz offers a fresh and exciting way to experience world music. Through interactive technologies and advanced projections that capture the comingling of sound and movement in real time, Niyaz invites the audience inside the art to share in a unique performance that is danceable, meaningful, and impossible to forget. NPR, MTV, and the BBC have lauded their groundbreaking work.

  • The Huffington Post described Niyaz as “an evolutionary force in contemporary Middle Eastern music.”
  • Niyaz’s most recent album, The Fourth Light, is a tribute to the first female Sufi mystic and poet Rabia Al Basri, who was born in Iraq in the 8th century,
  • Niyaz’s music has been featured in several major film and television scores including True Blood, Nip/Tuck, and Crossing Over.
