Live from the Lawn
Miss Tess & The Talkbacks
Miss Tess has a sultry, jazzy sound that’s hard to pin down. Her music doesn’t really fit in any one box—except maybe a jukebox from a retro diner. She’s got a cool, old school vibe that is rootsy and eclectic and it’s driving critics wild. Pop Matters raved that Miss Tess “deftly traverses the borderlines between early Tom Waits-esque lounge ballads, old timey country, a dollop of folk rock and a sprinkle of catchy jazz.” Tess got her start in Maryland, the daughter of swing band musicians, and we are thrilled to welcome her home.
