Million Dollar Quartet

Million Dollar Quartet is the Tony Award-winning smash hit Broadway musical inspired by the true story of the recording session that brought together rock ’n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. The show tells the story of the legendary day in 1956 that the four music stars dropped by Sun Records’ studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Rock ’n’ roll fans will love featured hits including, “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and how the performance brings the magical recording studio moment to life.

This performance will be open captioned. Please contact the ticket office at 301.581.5100 to reserve the best seating for open caption viewing.

  • Million Dollar Quartet was nominated for Best Musical at the 2010 Tony Awards, but it was actor Levi Kries (Jerry Lee Lewis) who won the award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
  • Sun Records founder Sam Phillips was known to be patient and willing to listen to anyone who came in off the street—which is how he met Elvis Presley.
  • The actual recording session occurred by pure chance—each musician happened to pay casual visits to Sun Records studio that day in 1956.
