Fri, July 26, 10am–8pm (6pm concert)
Music Director Kristofer Sanz leads this new weeklong intensive summer camp for high school string players to enhance their musicianship through orchestra rehearsals and sectionals; special workshops on voice, composition, and musical styles; and one-on-one audition preparation.
Registration Deadline: June 15, 2019
- Challenging and passionate repertoire
- Sessions on performing in eclectic styles
- Audition excerpt pull-out sessions with area professionals to enhance individual and ensemble musicianship while preparing for the 2019–2020 MCYO season
- Concert open to the public at the end of the academy
The Summer Orchestra Academy is open to string players entering grades 9–12.
All registrants must fill out this additional Information Form by June 15. Auditions are not required, but students must submit a link to an unlisted 3–5-minute YouTube video excerpt from solo repertoire through the form.
