Two spring concerts showcase the range of MCYO’s ensembles.

4:30pm Concert

MCYO’s Philharmonic performs two US premieres: the 12 Prelude Suite from An Open Book: A Memoir in Music by Jorge Mejia, accompanied by the composer on piano, and El Camino de Santiago Llega a Ti: A Suite for Orchestra by Pablo Manavello. MCYO’s Chamber Strings delight with Renacimiento by Keyla Orozco and Chant et Fugue by Astor Piazzolla.

Young Artists, conducted by MaryAnn Poling
Symphony, conducted by Simeone Tartaglione

MCYO’s Young Artists perform pieces by Glass, Holst, Mahler, Rossini and Saint-Saens and MCYO’s Symphony performs George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, and Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 2.
