After 15 years as leader of The Idan Raichel Project, international music icon Idan Raichel is focusing on the basic essence of his songs with a solo piano concert entitled Idan Raichel: Piano Songs. Raichel presents his melodies, lyrics, and the stories behind them in their pure, stripped-down form, as they were originally written at home or in the studio. This intimate and inspiring show allows Raichel to demonstrate his gifts as a singer-songwriter and endearing solo stage presence. Discover anew the songs that have earned him fans such as India.Arie, Alicia Keys, Portugal’s Ana Moura, France’s Patrick Bruel, Italy’s Ornella Vanoni, Germany’s Andreas Scholl, and Mali’s Vieux Farka Touré.
- Raichel’s group, The Idan Raichel Project, is a collaboration of over 95 musicians of diverse backgrounds
- Raichel began playing the accordion at 9 years old, which began his interest in Gypsy music and tango.
- The J.P. Morgan #NextList2017 included Raichel’s album At the Edge of the Beginning.
This concert will run approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
