An Evening with Garrison Keillor

Benefiting the F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference, Inc.
and the F. Scott Fitzgerald Society

One of the most recognizable voices in radio belongs to Garrison Keillor, who started his career at Minnesota Public Radio in 1969 and hosted the first broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion in St. Paul five years later. Today, some 4 million listeners on more than 700 public radio stations coast to coast and beyond tune in each week, and his books—Lake Wobegon Days, The Book of Guys, Pilgrims: A Wobegon Romance, Guy Noir and the Straight Skinny, and The Keillor Reader—are beloved by readers. Keillor brings his unique brand of humor to Strathmore for an evening of wisdom and wit.

  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference, Inc. has honored Keillor with their 2016 annual award for Achievement in American Literature.
  • In addition to hosting A Prairie Home Companion, Keillor serves as host of The Writer’s Almanac, a daily radio program of poetry and historical interest pieces.
  • Keillor has tapped musician Chris Thile of the bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek to succeed him full time as host of A Prairie Home Companion in September 2016.

This concert will run approximately 135 minutes with a pause to stretch your legs.
