Free Summer Outdoor Concert:
Tuelo are a New York City band with a love for music that rocks the soul. Formed by singer/songwriter Tuelo Minah in 2013, the band continually plays to packed houses at some of New York’s most famed institutions, including The Apollo Music Cafe and Lincoln Center. Tuelo’s unique take on rock ’n’ roll combines driving beats and catchy hooks with Tswana-Bushmen rhythms to tell dreamlike tales of struggle and triumph. No matter where they play, Tuelo always get audiences singing, clapping, and shaking along to the call of Minah’s booming voice.
- Though she writes and sings primarily in English, Minah often breaks into her native tongue, Setswana.
- Minah has performed with Hugh Masekela, Paul Simon, and Strathmore favorite Angélique Kidjo
- Look out for the new Tuelo EP, due out later this year!
