Live from the Lawn:
Karen Jonas
with Lauren Calve

Virginia native Karen Jonas first struck out on the Americana scene with her 2014 release Oklahoma Lottery, combining fiddle, guitar, lapsteel, and organ with intensely personal songwriting to deliver country swagger and tenacious storytelling. Celebrating local and intimately made music, Jonas’ newest album Country Songs invites listeners to sit back, relax, and let its poetry and nuance do the talking. With bright fiddling, soulful vocal stylings, and two-steppin’ basslines, Jonas rocks her own definition of country worth savoring.

Come early for some pre-show music at 6:30pm by Lauren Calve, an Americana singer-songwriter who knocks out audiences with her powerful vocals and impeccable guitar-playing grit.

Summer favorites like barbecue and sangria, plus weekly specials, are available for purchase from Ridgewells’ Tempo Grill starting at 5pm. View the menu. July 12 special: Virginia country ham, honey mustard sauce, buttermilk cheese biscuit.
