An Evening with David Sedaris

David Sedaris, one of America’s most beloved humorists, is a living legend with the power to render society and the human condition hilarious using wit, wisdom, and a healthy dose of satire. The Grammy-nominee and New York Times best-selling author of Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, and his most recent book, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, brings heart and hilarity to the stage with a show that’s nothing short of mesmerizing. Sedaris’ upcoming book Theft By Finding, is a collection of his diaries due out in summer 2017.

  • Sedaris parlayed his holiday gig as Crumpet the Elf at Macy’s into instant fame via an essay called “The Santaland Diaries.” Sedaris’ reading of “The Santaland Diaries” has become an NPR holiday tradition.
  • Sedaris and his equally funny sister Amy have collaborated on writing half-a-dozen plays which have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center, and The Drama Department in New York City. Their pseudonym? “The Talent Family.”
  • Sedaris has been known to rock a pair of culottes on stage—or as he likes to call them, “bell-bottom shorts.” (He blames Amy.)
