The Mansion transforms into an intimate jazz club and fills with the sultry, seductive sounds of horns, violins, acoustic guitars, steel pans, and concertinas. These vibrant renditions and original compositions from around the globe—a musical mélange of innovative soul, funk, jazz—offer indisputable proof that the depth and breadth of locally grown DC jazz rivals the best in the world!
- The DC jazz community is featured weekly on Antidote radio, Tuesday mornings on WERA 96.7FM
- Producer Ken Avis is working on the movie Anacostia Delta, which spotlights the impact of local DC guitarists Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan
- DC native Chuck Brown was known as The Godfather of Go-Go, a subset of funk music that was developed in the local area in the 1970s.
