Effervescent conductor Mario Venzago returns for a program of 19th-century classics including Rossini’s rousing William Tell Overture. Renowned French Canadian pianist Louis Lortie performs Chopin’s stunning First Piano Concerto, written when the composer was only 20. The program also includes Schumann’s most popular symphony, the sweeping “Rhenish” Symphony, with its unforgettable portrait of the imposing Cologne Cathedral overlooking the Rhine.
