with Honey Rockwell and Orko
A Pass the Peace Workshop Presented by Bmore Houseful
in partnership with CityDance and Strathmore
Honey Rockwell will co-teach a breakin’ workshop with her husband Orko, the pioneer BBoy legend from Los Angeles.
Honey and Orko will give a talk and Q & A about their experiences with the first hip hop dance style, called breakin’, in the ’80s and ’90s. Then, they will lead a dance foundation workshop where students will learn the vocabulary of the foundation breakin’ moves like top rocks, transitions, footwork, power moves, and freezes. Students will also learn the art of battling and how to incorporate the moves learned into battle tactics.
This legendary husband and wife breakin’ couple represents the best of the East and West Coast—don’t miss this workshop!
