Ashu, classical saxophone

When was the last time you attended a classical concert where the saxophone was front and center? The answer is almost certainly “never”—unless you’ve been to a performance by this tremendously talented young artist. “Just as much fun to watch as to listen to” (Dallas Morning News), Ashu “is in perpetual motion on stage and has an ability to keep an audience totally enthralled” (WQXR-Classical Radio for The New York Times).

  • Go big or go home—Ashu's recital debut took place at Carnegie Hall, and his concerto debut took place in DAR Constitution Hall
  • Quite the exotic traveler, Ashu's performances abroad have taken him to countries including Austria, Norway, Russia, South Africa, Finland, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan
  • Ashu has been featured on NBC, CBS, and NPR. After all, he's "as much fun to watch as to listen to" (Dallas Morning News)

Go green! As part of Strathmore’s ongoing effort to conserve natural resources, we’re providing a digital version of the concert program in advance. Help us save paper by using this e-program instead of taking a hard copy at the door. Download the program.
