Abeo Quartet

The members of Abeo Quartet met as first year students at Juilliard and chose the name Abeo, an expression of joy in a Nigerian dialect, to reflect their love for playing chamber music and sharing it with others. Since their forming, the quartet has won multiple awards including the silver medal at the 2019 Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition and the Judges Special Recognition Award at the 2019 Plowman Chamber Music Competition.

The quartet’s program includes Moonshot, a piece by the young composer Alistair Coleman, which was commissioned by the Glenstone Museum and inspired by a triptych of paintings which chart milestones of Apollo 11 created by artist On Kawara.
