The acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields redefined classical performance and is a touchstone of excellence in classical music making. Under the leadership of superstar violinist Joshua Bell, the orchestra is reaching new heights: “the partnership really came alive…the tension and balance were just electric.   • They call him the poet of the violin—and Joshua Bell is known and celebrated worldwide for his virtuosity
  • Appointed in 2011 as Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Bell is the first person to hold the title since Sir Neville Marriner formed the orchestra in 1958
  • Bell performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra leader. He made is Carnegie Hall debut at 17 and has recorded dozens of albums

This concert will run approximately 100 minutes with intermission.

Victoria Gau, Associate Conductor of the National Philharmonic, will deliver a pre-concert lecture, including live piano and music clips, for this concert. Music Center Promenade from 6:30-7:30pm. Free with concert ticket. Seating is first come, first served.
