Strathmore Children's Chorus
Singing Together with Excellence, Integrity, and Joy
One of the fastest growing children's choruses in the country, the Strathmore Children’s Chorus (SCC) provides a pre-professional choral experience in Montgomery County, Maryland, to students ages 7-18 from diverse backgrounds.
Under the direction of founding conductor and artistic director Christopher G. Guerra, three performing ensembles (Treble Chorus, Concert Chorus, and Young Men’s Chorus) plus a Training Chorus for new singers, promote self-expression in singers, celebrate the diverse musical traditions of our residents, and engage talented youth in joy-filled and uplifting music-making. SCC also performs with professional orchestras, other choral groups, and featured artists in ensemble performances, allowing Strathmore to provide a living, breathing, singing presence in our community. There are currently over 200 members.
Strathmore Children's Chorus Auditions
The Strathmore Children's Chorus holds auditions every summer, usually in late June. Follow SCC on Twitter, or check the web site for audition announcements in the spring.
