Written near the end of Verdi’s long career as a composer of opera, the monumental Requiem combines the drama of the stage, the passion and emotional power of an oratorio and the intensity of a symphony in a grand romantic expression of grief. This choral tour de force will feature two recent winners of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions—mezzo-soprano Margaret Mezzacappa and tenor William Davenport.

A free pre-concert lecture will be offered in the Concert Hall at 6:45PM.
